Reflection from Module 1 and 2

Image
It was lovely getting to see everyone on the group meeting, people who are new and people who are returning, like me. Can’t believe I am at the start of module 3- where has the time gone! It was great to refresh myself with some of the key points for this course. For those of you starting module 1 and 2 these points below really helped me through the modules. Handbooks- re-read these as many times as you need and mark certain pages that have important information on, so you can find them easily. Highlight and make notes on them as you need. You can also use the bibliography on the back to help guide you to more literature to read. Google Scholar is an amazing place to find literature- there is a link on the Unihub page to it. Blogs- use these in a way that is useful to you personally. Write about what resonates with you from the course. For instance, you could write about things you have found, or things that you have questions about. Also, go and check other people blogs who hav...

Module 2 here we come!

2020 has definitely been a rollercoaster so far- from starting this course in January, to being in lockdown and not being able to dance, to being a key worker in a pandemic…it has been a very weird time. If anything, it has enforced the need to be flexible and enhanced the use of transferable skills. On Friday I joined the welcome back skype. It was lovely seeing and hearing people from each module. Blogs- When I started module 1, I found it very helpful to read peoples blogs who had already completed the module. I’m going to take some time to go back as I start module 2 and read blogs from other people. It can be reassuring and inspiring reading what others have to say, as well as helping build a network of professionals. I find it quite daunting posting blogs. To help I have a specific focus for each one which helps me plan, write and then post them. Handbooks- I printed...

The Start of Something New

The beginning of something new... excited, terrified and a little lost!  I would be the first to admit I am a bit crazy with being organised. I need everything clear and tidy in my mind so I know what to focus on and what my aims are. I have been on UniHub countless times since December trying to figure everything out. Now this has been tricky considering enrolment didn't open until 6th January! Now even though I knew it was the 6th, I still tried several times to get on, just in case it had changed.  So as you can imagine, feeling lost is something I am not very comfortable with.  There are a lot of new things I will experience from starting this course:   Blogging  Referencing  Working full time and studying   Using the University website, Library and Turnitin  Skype  The course itself! All this can seem very overwhelming, but having read the handbooks and after the induction skype, I felt that a really strong messag...
